As the Senior Manager of Employee Health, Safety, and Wellness , you'll be at the heart of our dynamic People and Culture Division, reporting directly to the Director. This role is a unique opportunity to drive impactful change by overseeing the operations of a vital department and ensuring the seamless delivery of health, safety, and wellness services across the organization.
You'll lead a dedicated team, maintaining exceptional internal standards while ensuring compliance with both legal and regulatory requirements.
As a strategic influencer, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and executing WorkSafeBC's health, safety, and wellness initiatives. You'll provide expert guidance to both People and Culture and line management, ensuring health and safety policies are effectively applied. You'll also represent WorkSafeBC on various committees, delivering powerful presentations to key internal and external stakeholders. The future of health, safety, and wellness is in your hands.

- Strategically manage Health, Safety, and Wellness Operations: Oversee Employee Health, Safety, and Wellness programs for WorkSafeBC employees.
- Motivate and influence staff to achieve divisional priorities, providing coaching, feedback, and support while managing financial resources.
- Create departmental business plans aligned with strategic objectives and performance goals, continuously monitoring and adjusting activities to meet business plan objectives.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and promotion of the organization's health and safety management system.
- Support Organizational Culture: Foster a strong health and safety culture across the organization.
- Manage Staff and Financial Resources: Direct assigned staff to achieve divisional priorities, providing coaching, feedback, and support while managing financial resources.
- Work as a seasoned leader driving and implementing in-house H&S
- Work collaboratively with groups and other departments.
- Provide experience in strong organizational initiatives and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Show experience in following management system frameworks.
- A people leader with strong change management skills.
- A degree in health or a related discipline.
- 8 to 10 years' experience driving health, safety, and wellness, disability management and wellness from an organizational perspective. Progressive leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs within an organization.
- Experience working within a regulatory or compliance-heavy environment, particularly in workers' compensation, disability management, or risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and wellness regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Understanding of the strategic goals and priorities of health, safety, and wellness within a larger organizational context.
