DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.

Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

The Wealth Compliance Department provides compliance advisory and second line oversight of TD Wealth businesses, including: TD Waterhouse Canada (an IIROC registrant that includes Private Investment Advice, Financial Planning, and Direct Investing), Private Investment Counsel (an OSC registrant), TD Asset Management (an OSC registrant), Private Trust, and Private Banking.

Key functions within the unit include the Chief Compliance Officers and their teams for each business line . A multi-disciplinary team of compliance professionals supports these activities. Given the range of businesses supported, and the breadth of applicable regulations, the day-to-day work of the group is both interesting and complex, requiring compliance and wealth management subject matter expertise .

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role will involve a broad and dynamic range of activities that will provide exposure to different areas of the tea m . The successful candidate will work with closely with both their direct people manager and other senior managers on the team on the following:

• Marketing Oversight Program: in direct collaboration with the Senior Manager, complete a review to align template disclosure language to help simplify for the asset management business. Assist in reviewing new and existing regulations and cross check against existing resource material to identify and implement any updates that are required.

• Outside Activity Program: assist the Senior Manager with developing and implementing an actio n plan to create an efficient central ized resource for changes required to the program.

• Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM): assist the Senior Manager with the annual control review for the asset management business to validate compliance with TD standards.

• Conduct Oversight Program: assist in the review of gifts and entertainment and the review of e-comms to confirm compliance with respective policies.

• Other projects will be assigned as required .

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/ Commerce or related field

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school a t the start of your work term

• Able to manage multiple tasks with various deadlines and prioritization

• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Able to understand financial industry regulation and terminology

• Keen interest to learn new things and comfortable seeking clarification where required

• Bilingualism an asset
