As a Staff or Senior Accountant you will be required to apply KPMG's audit and accounting practices and methodologies at client engagements.
What you will do
Conduct external and internal financial statement audits for private companies including leadership of field engagement teams as well as coaching and mentoring junior staff. You will also develop and maintain relationships with client management.
The role also includes preparation of review and notice to reader working paper files, including unaudited financial statements.
At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.
What you bring to the role
The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $79,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.

- Prepare financial statements and notes thereto.
- Perform financial and systems analysis.
- Preparation of personal and corporate income tax returns.
- Coach and mentor junior staff accountants.

What you bring to the role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
- Proven track record in strong project management and organizational skills.
- Effectively monitor multiple or complex projects regularly to check how they are progressing against deadlines and budget.
- Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.
- Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professional in the performance of duties.
- Ability to use previous experience and technical knowledge to the benefit of the client.
- Previous experience using the various accounting frameworks applicable in Canada (IFRS, ASPE, NPO and/or Public Sector).
- Able to use a range of techniques to analyze an issue.
- Previous use of Tax Prep and Caseware programs would be beneficial.
- Successful completion of the CFE and working towards a CPA designation.
- 2 - 3 years post graduate experience with exposure to a variety of industries.
