The Executive Director - Nursing - Minimum Nurse Patient Ratio (mNPR) Implementation (the ED) provides executive-level leadership for the strategic implementation of mNPR across nursing practice areas within Northern Health (NH), in alignment with Ministry of Health policy directives. The ED oversees the comprehensive implementation process, collaborates with various departments, delivers progress reports, and drives continuous quality improvement initiatives. As a member of the NH Clinical Operations Leadership Team, the ED is responsible and accountable for timely development and submission of implementation plans and reports to HA Executive Leadership and the Ministry of Health. The ED is responsible for engaging nurses, nursing leaders, and union colleagues for continuous improvement in mNPR implementation and overall nursing care quality. The ED analyzes patient and nursing metrics, addressing barriers, proposing solutions, and ensuring nursing's contribution to team-based care. The ED emphasizes Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility, focusing on workplace improvement actions and enhancing Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility in NH.

Starting salary will be approximately from $141,146 to $176,433 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Master's degree in nursing plus ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of related experience in a complex health care environment or an equivalent combination of education, training & experience.
• Current practicing registration in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
• Experience in operational and nursing practice leadership.
• Senior-level expertise in leading nursing practice within a unionized/collective agreement context, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively and constructively with union leadership.
• Senior-level experience in collaborative leadership with both internal and external partners.

Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated excellence as a leader in health care delivery and collaborative interdisciplinary practice.
• Demonstrated ability in implementation planning and execution of plans.
• Demonstrated ability in examining performance and evaluation data, effectively translating information into processes for quality improvement.
• Thorough understanding of nursing practice and its impact on patient care quality.
• Proven understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles and their application in the workplace
• Knowledgeable about Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, demonstrating a commitment to these principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all levels.
• Ability to analyze and problem-solve complex issues towards creative solutions.
• Demonstrates Northern Health's values.
