We're looking for a Co-op Student, Investment Management to work in the Investment Management Department and support our Investment Analyst.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.
On Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.
During your first week you will engage in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip you for success. You will be partnering and meeting with your manager to discuss your goals and align them with the team's vision. Additionally, you will learn how our department contributes to the overall business strategy and supports the organization's mandate. You will also work through the onboarding program alongside your supervisor for added guidance and support.
This role is ideal for an individual who is eager to step beyond their comfort zone. We are looking for someone with attention to details, strong motivation, and a passion for innovation. The right candidate will possess analytical and critical thinking skills, enabling them to propose ideas that enhance various processes and initiatives, as well as to explore new approaches to work within the department.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Assist in preparation of investment reports
- Assist in analyzing/checking data from external providers
- Assist in the monthly financial reporting process
- Assist in ad-hoc project as assigned, e.g., banking, insurance
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to wide variety of tasks and functions
- Demonstrate strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change
- Work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
Your background and experience
- Currently enrolled in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or Accounting related program
- Previous work experience in an analytical/analyst role in investments or financial accounting is an asset
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, especially Excel and Word

- Consent to a criminal record check and successfully meet the criminal record clearance
- Confirm you're legally entitled to work in Canada
- Confirm you're a registered student at a post-secondary institution and participating in a work integrated learning program with your studies
