Junior Design Technician

The Opportunity:

You'll be part of a growing Municipal team, located in the Fredericton Area. This role consists of working with multi-discipline project teams, managing your own project tasks and providing technical and engineering design support on a wide variety of unique projects locally and around the world.

What you can expect to do here:

• You'll be collaborating with multi-discipline project teams consisting of scientists, engineers, and consultants; understanding the project scope, budget and schedule and managing the design component of the project deliverables accordingly.
• You'll be providing advanced 3D modeling and design analysis to support a wide variety of unique, large-scale, multi-discipline projects collaborating with colleagues locally and in offices around the world.
• You'll perform advanced/complex calculations, identify potential design issues and provide alternative solutions.
• You'll prepare engineering drawings for conceptual, tender, construction and as-built deliverables
• You'll be managing your own workload commitments by following an established workflow and data management process.
• You'll be responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to global company standards, processes and best practices.
• You'll be active with continuous knowledge sharing, training and mentoring to develop your skills and develop your career.
  

What you'll bring to WSP:

• A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology preferred;
• 0-3 years of experience;
• Experience working in a consulting environment would be considered an asset;
• Thorough working ability with Civil 3D and AutoCAD software with above average drawing production capabilities, would be considered an asset;
• Develop engineering drawings packages in accordance with standards and best practices;
• Ability to effectively communicate and thrive in team environments;
• Proficient at multi-tasking and work diligently to meet time-sensitive deadlines; and
• Eager to learn and develop;
